I like the phrase "將心比心" (Use heart compare heart) I learned from the Taiwanese drama I watched few months ago. Basically this phrase means put yourself in other's shoes. But it don't have the heart element there so I think the more appropriate translation will be, how will you feel (the heart element. LOL) if you were her/him?
Sometimes people are so eager to get things fix (which is not wrong) they forgotten that the best cure might be just a hug or a pat on the shoulder instead of a loooooong talk.
Sometimes people are so full of what is right and wrong in their mind, they forgotten that the whole situation is really not that complicated at all.
Sometimes people are so eager to help, they forgotten that it might be better to just give some time and space.
Sometimes people are so eager to set things "right", they forgotten that they have no right to decide on behalf of others.
I know they are all of good intention. But sometimes it can be too suffocating to seek help from them.
But when you have that someone, that someone that God has placed in your life, that person that can understand what you are going through, see things as you see, accept the fact that you are week and will slap you on the face when you need to wake up, cheer you up, and never fail to be there for you when you needed to, you found a true friend. And one will be enough to carry you through ups and downs of your life.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. - Proverbs 17:17
